What it is
A catalog of the music played on WWOZ 90.7 FM in New Orleans, grown into an encyclopedia: thousands of artists, the relationships between them, a map, a timeline, and an archive of what the station actually played.
What runs without me
Every morning a sync pulls the previous day’s playlist, matches tracks to artists, checks the result against what it already knows, and publishes. New artists get a page. Portraits get fetched. If something doesn’t add up, it’s flagged rather than published. I look at it when I feel like it, not because I have to.
Why it’s on this site
Client work mostly looks like this underneath: take something in, check it against what you already know, publish it, every day, with nobody watching. On a client system you’d see the screenshots and take my word for the rest. Here I’m the owner, so you can go click on it.
